Kessan’s landing is a story and daily area added to SWTOR with update 7.4.
There are 95 points of hidden achievements in the Exploration section of the Kessan’s Landing Achievements.
· Grazer Whisper (25 pts)
o Lost Grazer: Caldera (5 pts)
o Lost Grazer: Moon-Gazer (5 pts)
o Lost Grazer: Out to Sea (5 pts)
o Lost Grazer: Party Animal (5 pts)
o Lost Grazer: The High Ground (5 pts)
· Tidewracked (20 pts)
· Technological Breakthrough: Kessan’s Landing (25 pts)
This guide will help you obtain all of these achievements.
Grazer Whisperer
This achievement can be completed by locating five Grazers throughout the map and sending them home.
There is also an achievement for sending each Grazer home individually.
Before you set off to find the Grazers, stop by the Animal Handler vendor located in the center of Ardak Point and buy either a Grazer Prod or Grazer Treat. Both are reusable and work for each Grazer.
Next, using the map locations below, set off to find all five Grazers. Interact with them with the Grazer Prod or Grazer Treat to unlock the achievements.
Tidewracked
Clean up 30 pieces of debris on Kessan’s Landing’s Beaches
Debris can be found along the coast marked on the map with the yellow line.
There are multiple locations; I was able to collect all 30 in one pass.
Completing this achievement awards the Legacy Title “Debris Collector”.
Technological Breakthrough
This is by far the longest hidden achievement to obtain in the Kessan’s Landing Area. It involves completing a series of several missions, the result of which are both the achievement and use of a Geothermal Shield that can protect you from the lava throughout the map.
This shield can be helpful while exploring Kessan’s Landing, but is also needed to reach the datacron hidden in Kessan’s Landing.
To earn the achievement, you must complete the following series of missions:
1. Schematic Aspirations
a. Advanced Hypercoolant
b. High-Grade Durasteel
c. Thermal Regulator Unit
2. Subjective Selection
3. Good Calibrations
4. There’s Always a Backup
5. Test Plan
This mission series is long and will take you across the galaxy to locations such as Ilum, Iokath, Corellia, and Quesh. Several of the mission objectives are not straightforward, which is why I thought writing this guide would be helpful as players work toward this achievement.
Stage 1 - Schematic Aspirations
Pick up the “Schematic Aspirations” mission from the console in the Runoff Control room.
The Runoff Control room is to the South of Ardak Point.
Download the Schematic Data
Click on the terminal directly to the left of the console where you picked up the mission.
Locate the Datastream
Use the macrobinoculars provided with the mission.
The arrows on the map below indicate where to stand and which direction to look.
Note: location 3 is just outside of Ardak Point to the East. Stand on the bridge and look North.
Find the Security Mainframe
Head North along the path East of Ardak Point to the location on the map.
Enter the Subterranean Power Station and turn right at the folk, and the quest will advance when you reach the room at the end of the hallway.
Find a way to Bypass Security
Click on one of the Clearance Code Datapads at the starred location on the map.
Examine the empty Combo-Key
Click on the Combo-Key provided with the mission
Recover Security Datasticks
There are three datasticks. The mission and map are not very clear on where to find the datasticks, but each drops from a particular enemy.
Asharl Tech-Devourer: found in the Subterranean Power station in the center room. Loot it to recover the Datastick.
Security Officer Henck: head to the Northeast section of the Kessan’s Landing Map Security Officer Henck can be found next to a console just outside the World Boss area.
Loot him to recover his Datastick.
Tech-Devourer Trainer: head to Fort Ronnig in the Southeast area of the Kessan’s Landing map. The Tech-Devourer Trainer can be found roaming behind the building near the Overburdened Dewback. Loot him to recover his Datastick.
Assemble the Security Datastick
Click on the Combo-Key Datastick provided with the mission.
Download the Schematic Data
Travel back to Ardak Point and return to the Runoff Control room (where you picked up the mission). Click on the same terminal you clicked at the beginning of the mission.
Examine the Schematic
Click on the Geothermal Shielding Schematic provided with the mission. This completes the mission, and unlocks three daily missions from the console in the Runoff Control room.
Stage 1, Part A - Advanced Hypercoolant
This mission takes us to Ilum to collect a Hypercoolant Enclosure.
Travel to Ilum, to the Northwest section of the Eastern Ice Shelf.
• Imperial Waystation is the closest quick travel on for Empire players.
• Republic Waystationis the closest quick travel for Republic players.
Collect Hypercoolant Container
Click on an Empty Hypercoolant Container to collect it.
Extract Hypercoolant Chemicrystals
You will need six. These are kind of tough to spot, but you’re looking for white pools with red arrows above them (see image in the map below). They are in the general area noted on the map.
Note: The clickable area of the pool is much smaller than the pool itself, so you may have to move your mouse around to find the right spot. I found some that were not clickable, so I assume those were on cooldown from another player. I ended up switching instances to speed it up. (They seem to have a very long respawn time, this part was quite annoying - Admiral)
Collect an Enzymer Probe Kit
I found this at the Imperial Waystation, so I assume for Republic Players, the location is the similar Republic Waystation.
Collect Tauntaun Enzymes
Find the nearest Tauntaun and use the Enzymer provided with the mission on it.
Combine Materials
Click on the Hypercoolant Container provided with the mission.
Expose Container to Extreme Cold
You should have Hypercoolant Synthesis Instructions in your Mission Items Inventory that provides a clue on where to go to complete this step.
Head to the South section of the Eastern Ice Shelf.
There is no map indicator for where to go, but your goal is to find an exhaustion zone and hang out until your mission progresses.
Verify Hypercoolant Mixture
Return to the Runoff Control room in Kessan’s Landing. Click on the Component Workbench to complete the mission. (This is to the left in the same room we picked up the mission)
Stage 1, Part B High-Grade Durasteel
This mission takes us to Corellia to obtain a Testing Device.
Travel to Corellia, to the Labor Valley in the North-West section of the map.
I found the Testing Device by looting a Republic Rocket Gunner. I would assume there is a similar “Imperial Rocket Gunner” to loot for Republic Players. (confirmed, they are patroling around to the north of the republic taxi area at labor valley - Admiral)
Practice Using the Test Device
Click on the Practice Targets to practice using the device.
Find and Collect Suitable Durasteel
Click on the durasteel once to test it, then click it again to collect it.
Verify Durasteel Shielding
Return to the Runoff Control room in Kessan’s Landing. Click on the Power Tools to complete the mission

Once all three missions have been completed, another daily mission will be unlocked on the console in the Runoff Control room.
Stage 2 - Subjective Selection
The next mission in the series leads us to locate a suitable Test Lab. The exact location is an instanced room noted on the map below. Enter the room, and the mission will advance.
Power Up the Lab
Head left when you enter the room, and click on the panel on the wall.
Examine the Equipment
Once you’ve clicked the panel, three green arrows appear in the room. You’ll need to examine the Workbench, Irradiated Lava Sample, and Supplies. Do this by stepping into the spot noted by the arrows, and clicking the temporary ability that appears.
Scan for a Suitable Test Subject
Quick Travel to Orabina Cove (East section of the map) and head to garden near the location marker on your map (there are two markers, head to the one that is more South-East). There is a damaged Gonk Droid sticking out of the garden you need to scan with the provided macrobinoculars.
Recover a Test Subject
After you’ve scanned the buried Gonk Droid, click on him to advance the mission
Return Test Subject to Lab
Return to the lab in Ardak Point you found at the beginning of the mission, and click the workbench.
Examine Test Subject
Use the temporary ability that appears to examine the test subject.
After examining, you’ll need to acquire three objects
· Repair Kit: Can be purchased from the Parts Vendor just outside of the lab. Right click the repair kit to open it once you’ve purchased it.
· Motivator Unit: Quick Travel to Port Granost (North section of map by the World Boss). You’ll need to attack a FR3-DOM Prototype droid, and it will drop the motivator unit once defeated.
· Shielded Wiring: Can be found by clicking any of the blue highlighted panels inside the cantina in Ardak Point.
Repair Test Subject
Once you’ve obtained all three objects, head back to the lab in Ardak Point and click on the test subject on the workbench to repair it.
Place Test Subject on Activator
Click on the activator in the lab (noted by a green arrow) to place the test subject on it.

Click the panel to the right of the activator. The test subject will move into the lava and explode (RIP Test Subject).
Assess Results: 0/3
Click on the exploded parts of your doomed test subject scattered around the room.
Access Research Databank for Assistance
Head back to the Runoff Control Room and click on the panel
Examine Troubleshooting Guide
Click on the guide provided with the mission.
This completes the mission, and unlocks the next mission on the console in the Runoff Control room.
Stage 3 - Good Calibrations
The next mission in the series starts by collecting diagnostic tools. Return to the lab in Ardak Point that you visited in the previous mission. The tools are on the table near the lava pool.
Calibrate Diagnostic Tools
Stand at the stairs to the lava pool and you’ll receive a temporary ability. Click it to calibrate your tools.
Gather Ord Mantell Data: 0/5
Quick Travel to Solitude’s Laze (South section of the map). As you move around the map, a yellow line of arrows will guide you to the correct locations (Tip: you’re looking for locations with lava). This completes the mission, and unlocks another mission from the console.
Stage 4 - There’s Always A Backup
After the attack, the next mission in the series begins with attempting to recover terminal data. Stay near the terminal where you started the mission, and you’ll receive a temporary ability. Click it to attempt to recover the data. You’ll receive a critical error as the mission advances.
Return to the Security Mainframe
Follow the map markers and head to the Subterranean Power Station (North-West section of the map). Once inside head to the mainframe room marked on your map.
When you enter the room, the mission will advance.
Search Databanks: 0/3
Click on the three mainframe databanks highlighted in blue in the mainframe room.
Find the Backup Terminal
There is not a map indicator for where to go for this step in the mission. Instead, the mission gives you a hint to Examine your Personal Logs. There are three Personal Logs in your Mission Items Inventory.
The one titled “Career Goals” has a comment about how working at the geothermal plant is much more interesting than hypermatter manufacture oversight. This hint is a reference to the hypermatter facility on the Black Hole daily area on Corellia. Use your Black Hole Planetary Mission to quick travel there.
Head to the East section of the map marked below.
Once inside, head to the area marked on the map below. When you get close enough to the terminal, the mission will advance.
Slice the Backup Terminal
The terminal has five buttons, four of which are color coded. You have to click the buttons in the right order to slice the terminal. For a hint on the correct order, go back to the Personal Logs, this time looking at the one titled “IMPORTANT”.
The text includes the following message: Remember: HELLO, MEAN, HEAD, …GLURPLE?” Those word rhyme with a corresponding color, making the sequence YELLOW, GREEN, RED, PURPLE.
After you’ve selected the colors in the correct order, click the uncolored button on the right.
Download Backup Research Data and Upload Data Calibrations
Panels on each side of the backup terminal will light up. Click them both.
Examine Data Readout
Click on the data readout provided with the mission.
This ends the mission. The final mission will then appear on the output terminal next to the backup terminal.
Stage 5 - Test Plan
The final mission in this series starts by taking us back to Iokath to Obtain 3 Fabricator Components. Head to Iokath and follow the map indicators to the Weapons Factory. I quick traveled to Iokath Operation Control (South section of map – where the entrance to the Gods operation is) then followed the map indicators from there.
The center section of the Weapons Factory marked on your map will have several Fabricator Parts bins to click on. Click three to obtain the components.

Click on the temporary ability you receive while standing near the test subject to thank it.
Place Shield Unit Generator
Exit the lab and head to the location marked on your map. Interact with the location with the green arrow. For my Empire player it was near the Imperial Shuttle, so I would imagine for Republic players its in the similar Republic Shuttle area.
This completes the final mission, and you are granted the “Technological Breakthough” Hidden Achievement. Contrats! It also allows you to use the Shielding Unit as you are exploring Kessan’s Landing.
What's next? The above mission(s) in the Technological Breakthrough arc give you the tools you need to make obtaining the new datacron on Kessan's Landing much easier. Check out all of the details in the next guide and soon that Datacron will be yours!
